Remembering Farrah Fawcett in the Smithsonian

As the world mourned Charlie’s Angels Farrah Fawcett passing away in 2009, we also remembered her famous outfits in the show.  Who could not forget her famous and classic swimsuit, which debuted in the first season of Charlie’s Angels.  Along with the hairstyle, the red swimsuit splashed onto the scene as what the seventies really represented, which is easiness along with a classic chic feel.  Although this swimsuit was been adored from afar, now it can be adored up close for viewers.  This iconic swimsuit will now be found in The Smithsonian’s Collection of National Treasures of Pop Culture.  It was donated by Ryan O’Neal, Farrah’s longtime companion, to the Smithsonian to be adorned by all of the public up close and personal.  Farrah Fawcett’s swimsuit will grace The Smithsonian along side Michael Jackson’s legendary hat, Dorothy’s ruby slippers, Jim Henson’s Kermit the frog, and Carol Burnett’s “Went with the Wind” dress from her 1970’s TV musical comedy show, and that is just to name a few.
